Rooney has finally restored the pride of Manchester derby. His vital goal in front of Manchester city fans proved enough to come out of the derby. It was a match that united has to win in order to continue their championship race behind the League leaders Liverpool and Chelsea. The goal was scored in the 43rd minute assisted by the Asian Maestro Park-Ji-Sung, who headed to Carrick and made a blazing shot towards the goal. Rooney was at the right place to score the goal. It was also Rooney’s 100th goal for United and a great way to reach that milestone. Another memorable incident in the match was exit for Chris Ronaldo. He was given a Red card for handling the ball instead of heading. But,even down to 10 men, United were able to resist City's attack till the last minute.
