Copa Del Rey Finals 2011

At last, they made it. Real Madrid have come out victorious in their El Classico match against Barcelona with 1-0 and guess who scored the goal? Ronaldo with a towering header from a Di Maria’s cross was enough to seal a precious Copa Del Victory. It was their 18^th time and more significantly, first silverware after 2007 league title. The match went to the extra time after both the team failed to score goals in the allotted 90 minutes of play. Pepe hit the crossbar before the half time and it was Madrid who were dominant in the first half. Second half belonged to Barcelona and a goal was ruled out from Pedro, due to offside. However, Real Madrid attacked in the extra time period and they got rewarded. It was Ronaldo’s second goal against Barcelona in his whole career and there may be still more to come from  him, as both the team will face again in the Champions League quarterfinals. 

Ronaldo might meet Real Madrid

The European Player of 2008, Cristiano Ronaldo, could face Real Madrid after his team Manchester United attained the top spot in their group. The Portuguese was involved in the transfer rumors to Real Madrid in the early stages of the season. But, the scot, Sir Alex Ferguson, strongly pointed out that Ronaldo would stay at Old Trafford. His side managed only a 2-2 draw against Aalborg. The other possible teams for the red devils to meet in last 16 are Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Sporting Lisbon and Lyon. Well, according to the managers of both Man united and Real Madrid, they consider that it would be a nice party time if they meet each other in the last 16.
