He is a retired player, who played for Denmark and clubs like Hvidovre, Brøndby, Manchester United, Sporting CP, Aston Villa, Manchester City. He came to the limelight when he played for the Red devils, where he spend around nine dream years. Schmeichel is highly regarded as one of the top ten goal keepers of the 20th century, according to IFFHS. He managed to keep 42% of cleansheets in the premiership. He has a son, Kasper Schmeichel, and he plays for Manchester City FC, who is also a goal keeper.
