Del Bosque ready for England clash
Vicente del Bosque has called up Barcelona's Gerard Pique and Sergi Busquets for next week's friendly with England. The uncapped Barcelona duo - defender Pique, 22, and 20-year-old midfielder Busquets - were the main newcomers in a 22-man squad which includes 18 of the players that last year helped Spain win the European Championships.Of the two new faces it appears that former Manchester United defender Pique has the better chance of starting the game as Del Bosque has fitness doubts over two of the other centre-backs named in his squad, with Carles Puyol and Raul Albiol both struggling with injuries.Del Bosque has not yet ruled either of those players out, but the former Real Madrid coach admits it would be prudent to try out some different players anyway, both for the short and long-term future.Spain continue their World Cup qualifying campaign with a top-of-the-table clash against Turkey, who are currently second behind Del Bosque's men in Group Five, in Madrid on March 28.
