Valencia vs Dynamo Kiev Preview
Unai Emery has taken comfort from Valencia's home record heading into their UEFA Cup clash with Dynamo Kiev.Valencia claimed a creditable 1-1 draw from the first leg in snowy Kiev but generally Los Che have had little to smile about in recent times, with financial problems affecting the club off the field and indifferent results plaguing the team on it.In their last nine competitive fixtures, the 2004 UEFA Cup champions have won just twice and lost four times, while you have to go back to November for the club's last away win.Fortunately Emery's men have been much more effective at home, where they have lost only twice in 19 games this season, the most recent of which came over three months ago, and that has given Emery cause for optimism.Emery, who was without Raul Albiol, Thiago Carleto, David Albelda, Miguel, Emiliano Moretti, Edu and Renan Brito for various reasons for last weekend's Primera Liga draw at Deportivo La Coruna, will wait until tomorrow before naming his squad for the Dynamo game, although Albelda is definitely out due to a ban.Dynamo coach Yuri Semin welcomes back striker Olexandr Aliyev for the trip to Spain after he missed the first meeting due to suspension. However, another forward Artem Milevskiy, who scored Dynamo's goal in the opening encounter and was a real threat to Valencia, is unavailable as he serves a ban of his own after being sent off during the 1-1 draw at the Lobanovsky Dynamo Stadium. The winners of this tie will meet either Sampdoria or Metalist Kharkiv in the next round.
